Blue Planet Action APP
The people of the world need to be activated to stop climate change, end the dumping of waste and to restore nature. Our goal is to encourage ordinary people to take actions, however small, that move the world in the right direction.
People want to take action, they just don’t know where to start or what to do. Our Action App will help people (“Actors”) find things to do, recognize people for achieving actions and award them status. The application works something like Yelp for action. An Actor will choose from a list of things to do. Actions can start as small as “turn off a light” or “pick up a piece of litter” and they will become as big as “end the use of carbon based fuel in a country” or “rebuild a Barrier Reef”.
We will use the stimulus/reward cycle developed by the gaming industry to keep people engaged and competing to do bigger and better things. We will use the AI developed by web-merchants to present Actors with actions tailor-made for them. As Actors accumulate points, they will go up levels. Levels are both a measurement of achievement and badges of honor. At first, a team will categorize actions and sort them by level of difficulty.
Once the platform is moving, Actors that have achieved higher levels can add new actions and help to rate action difficulty levels. The next stage will engage NGOs so that they can create and sponsor actions. The real change will happen when we get celebrities to sponsor actions. Sponsored actions will earn points for the Actor as well as the sponsor. It will become a competition by and between celebrities/sponsors to see who can affect the biggest positive change in the world.
